Andrew George, a Consulting Associate of TWCOG LLP, is a senior energy industry expert and M&A and business development advisor with over a 20 years’ experience in evaluating energy markets, advising/managing on strategy and executing transactions.
Andrew has acted as leading commercial advisor or as a senior executive on a range of large-scale energy market M&A transactions in Australia and the Asia/Pacific, covering power generation, energy retailing and gas and electricity transmission businesses. Andrew provides senior consulting advice to a range of energy market business and large industrial energy users, including asset sales/acquisitions, and negotiation of long-term supply agreements in both electricity and gas.
Prior to consulting, Andrew’s executive career included roles with Alinta, Santos, and PwC.

- Arranging long-term energy offtake and market hedging contracts to underpin construction of the 228MW Lal Lal Wind Farms in Victoria, Australia, between Macquarie Capital as asset owner, a worldwide reinsurer and 2 major industrial energy users
- Lead advisor to a major Australian mining business in securing new long-term energy supply for remote off-grid operations and for grid-connected mining assets
- Commercial advisor to proposed acquirer of a large Australian minerals processing business, including review of major power purchase agreements and gas supply agreements and development of strategies to manage ongoing energy market risks relating to the business
- Lead commercial advisor in due diligence for the AUD $1.4 acquisition of Energy Developments by DUET (now CKI), including assessment of asset values and market outlooks across various jurisdictions including Australia, US, and UK
